受邀代表北京科技大学出席会议

并受到李克强总理接见

Alberto N. Conejo教授是墨西哥籍钢铁冶金工程专家,在直接还原铁(替代炼钢铁水)和电炉泡沫渣的基础试验研究方面做出了卓越贡献,这种新工艺可以减少能源消耗。这项研究已经获得美国Charles W. Briggs奖、墨西哥钢铁生产协会国家奖、米却肯州奖和墨西哥国家级研究员奖等多个奖项。

Alberto N. Conejo教授是两大国际知名期刊编委会成员,与钢铁行业有着深入的合作,为行业提供了培训和咨询服务。他在日本东北大学、印度理工大学坎普尔分校、安赛乐米塔尔实验室(阿维莱斯)和北京科技大学做过访问教授。

Alberto N. Conejo教授目前已发表英文学术论文有120余篇。自2018年9月起,开始担任北京科技大学冶金与生态工程学院全职教授,他的《量纲分析基础及其在冶金中的应用》(Fundamentals of dimensional analysis with application in metallurgy)一书已完成,并将于今年由爱思唯尔出版集团出版。

北京科技大学的冶金学科排名世界第一,能够来这里工作,我感到非常荣幸,也深感责任重大。我在这里工作得很开心,因为这里的工作氛围很好,我们享有研究自由,学生们都非常努力,基础设施也是世界一流。我现在的研究主要是关于物理模拟,其目的是揭示在小尺度下热量、质量和流体的各种现象,我希望可以和大家分享我在冶金和电炉炼钢领域的经验。

目前,中国用一种能源消耗量大并会产生大量二氧化碳的长流程工艺生产了世界将近60%的钢铁。电炉炼钢工艺的发展相对缓慢,但是在节能方面有着很大的优势。我们需要凝聚北京科技大学人才优势,共同应对人类面临的重大挑战。在学校的正确领导之下,我们的付出将取得很好的结果。我一直坚信:“没有什么是完美的,但每件事都可以被完善”。我们需要继续加强团队合作,然后让世界上每一个学生都知道北京科技大学这个名字,这是我的梦想,也是我的生活动力。

Professor Alberto N. Conejo is a Mexican Researcher in the fields of iron and steelmaking. He has made important contributions in the production of iron carbide, analternative source of iron to produce steel and fundamental and experimental work on slag foaming in the electric Arc Furnace Process, a technique used todecrease energy consumption. This work has been recognized with several awards: Charles W. Briggs award from USA, National award from the Mexican chamber of steel producers, Michoacán Province award and member of the Mexican National System of researchers.

He is member of the editorial board of two prestigious international journals. He has had a strong collaboration with the steel industry providing training and consulting work. He has been visiting professor at Tohoku University, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Research Labs Arcelor Mittal in Avilés and USTB.

His total number of publications in English is about 120. He is full Professor at the School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering since September 2018. He has finished the book: “Fundamentals of dimensional analysis with application in metallurgy” to be published by Elsevier this year.

It is a great privilege to work at USTB because the discipline of metallurgy is number one in the world. It is also a great responsibility. I feel so happy working here because of the working atmosphere; there is freedom to do our work, students work hard and the infrastructure is top class. My current work is doing physical modeling, which basically is to study in a small-scale different phenomenon involving heat, mass and fluid flow. My intention is to share my experience in the fields of ironmaking and EAF steelmaking. Currently China produces about 60% of the total steel of the world using a process that consumes a huge amount of energy and consequently produces large amounts of CO2. The EAF process has been growing slowly but has advantages in terms of energy consumption. We need to join all the talent in USTB to solve the main challenges of humankind. With the proper leadership our efforts can successful.

I stick to the rule that “nothing is perfect but everything is perfectible”; we need to improve our way to do team work and make the word USTB to be known by any student in the world. This is my dream and the driving force of my life.
